RECYCLING

Let's look after this wonderful area and environment that we live, work and play in. We can all help by following the 3 Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle as much as possible.  Listed below are all the items we have recycling collections for at Bayview Community Centre:

 
Batteries
Household batteries can be deposited in our secure recycling station.

Colgate Oral Care Items

Any of the following Colgate branded items are accepted: 

  • Toothpaste tubes and caps

  • Toothbrushes

  • Toothbrush and toothpaste tube plastic packaging

  • Floss containers

  • Mouthwash bottles

Goods are recycled in partnership with TerraCycle

​​Coffee Capsules - Nescafe Dulce Gusto

  • All plastic NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Capsules

  • All plastic Starbucks® by NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® Capsules

In order to recycle this waste properly, please squeeze excess liquid from your capsules before storing, to avoid dripping packages.

Coffee Capsules - L'OR, Moccona, Jed's and Illy coffee capsules

  • All L'OR, Moccona, Jed's and Illy coffee capsules (aluminium only)

Dish and Air Care Products

Accepted Waste:

  • Plastic air freshener containers, cartridge caps & car air fresheners

  • Flexible packaging from laundry and dishwasher pods

  • Dryer sheets

  • Fabric conditioner bottles and caps

  • Flexible and rigid wipes containers

Goods are recycled in partnership with TerraCycle

Inflatable Toys

Any inflatable toy

Please ensure your inflatables are clean and don’t have mould on them, otherwise they can't be recycled.
Air mattresses are not accepted.

Goods are recycled in partnership with 'I Used to Be' - keeping unwanted inflatables out of landfill by repurposing them into hardy, splash-proof bags.

Lids

We collect plastic milk bottle lids, wine bottle lids and beer bottle lids and these are used for arts and crafts in local daycares.

Razors & Blades

The Gillette® Free Recycling Program accepts all brands of used razor blades and packaging. 

These can be deposited in our secure recycling station.

Goods are recycled in partnership with TerraCycle

​

Vapes​

The following vape products can be deposited in our secure recycling station.

  • Empty HEETS* sticks and flexible packaging 

  • Empty VEEV* devices including batteries.

  • Empty VEEBA* devices including batteries. 

All brands of empty vape cartridges/pods (to help the TerraCycle R&D team design a recycling solution for these products).

Goods are recycled in partnership with TerraCycle

​Wool Mats

We collect wool mats for Pest Free Kaipatiki to use when planting new trees or around areas they have weeded.
